Bubble tea which is commonly called boba, comes in milk and fruity varieties, and it can be served hot or cold. Tapioca, the tiny "pearls/bubbles" that are in this beverage, is the reason it is named bubble tea. It also referes to when the drink is shaken tiny bubbles are formed on top!
